Andrea was born in Brisbane and Educated at St Margarets School Ascot. Andrea has studied at the Brisbane Institute of Art for the last 4 years and completed 3 years of acrylic painting from levels 1 to Studio level. It is here that her love of painting has been re-ignited.
Over this time and combined with many trips to Bali, Andrea has developed a passion for the culture and landscape of Bali. It is this environment, which inspires her works, and the thoughts, which create her paintings. Captured by the warmth of Bali’s golden light and the brilliant colours that surround her on walks through rice paddy’s and trips to marketplaces and villages. Her love of painting and colour is reflected in her abstract renderings of these Balinese environments. Works range in size and shape and most typically are overtly colourful. Andrea uses acrylic on canvas as her medium and her large brushstrokes have become part of her signature.
Andrea is married to Brisbane architect, Colin loel, and has 2 daughters. Her interests include. Cooking, Travel, Fashion, Art and Design but painting is her absolute favourite form of expression.
Andrea intends to continue with her works and further explore the abstractions of the Balinese and their culture.
